Abstract

This paper is devoted to the problem of psychological peculiarities of self-actualization among teenagers with various levels of stress resistance. Importance of the development of stress resistance among youngsters, their ability to confront stressful situations is show through to the analyses, generalization and systematization of scientific resources. The essence of personal self-actualization, its peculiarities due to the age are defined out in the context of primary professional choice, student’s vital landmarks, values, motives of self-education and self-upbringing, and the formation of «I – conception». 

The publication summarizes and theoretically supports the main results of empirical research devoted to psychological peculiarities of self-actualization of teenagers with different levels of stress resistance (n=62). It gives the list of diagnostic methods which were used to determine the levels of stress resistance («Boston Stress Test», «Diagnosis of Stress» (A.O. Porohov), self-actualization of the students – questionnaire «The Test of Self- Actualization» (E.Shostrom).

There are also defined and studied emotional and social types of intelligence as the factors of teenagers’ self-actualization. For their diagnostic were used: «Techniques of emotional intelligence studying» (M.O. Manoylova), «Methods of social intelligence studying» (J. Gilford, M. O’Salliven) were used.

The results of quantitative and qualitative analysis of empirical data allowed the indices of authors to draw the conclusions about the inverse correlation between the self-actualization and stress resistance of youngsters, to prove connection between self-actualization and components of emotional and social intelligence.

There are highlighted further scientific researches in such spheres as tracking of personal and professional growth dynamics among the students of different specialties in the unstable conditions; studying of self-actualization determination among the youngsters, peculiarities of copying-behavior among the students with different levels of self-actualization and stress resistance; concretization of the influence of higher educational institution environment on the formation of stress resistance among youngsters; development and testing of the technologies of the psychological development (correction) of stress resistance level, the ability to resist the impacts and stressful factors, negative effects of social environment, etc.
